H Rock, a Hermes questions. Can high fashion and rock ever unite? Well according to Hermes it’s a resounding, YES. Take a butchers and decide for yourself:
A bastion of French luxury given a modern twist: Nick Knight’s Autumn/Winter 2011 campaign for Hermès reinterprets the artisan tradition and hand-craft synonymous with Hermès for the twenty-first century. Direction: Nick Knight Edit: Ruth Hogben Styling: Jonathan Kaye Models: Alana Zimmer and Isaac Carew Hair: Martin Cullen Make-up: Petros Petrohilos Nails: Marian Newman Visual Effects: Loïc Maes
In August of last year, rumors surfaced about Jean Paul Gaultier leaving Hermès. Apparently they just decided to split! WWD reports Gaultier will leave Hermès after his next show for spring 2011 to focus on his namesake line. Hermès will retain its 45 percent stake in the Jean Paul Gaultier label. Christophe Lemaire, the artistic director of women’s ready-to-wear for Hermès, will take the reins from Gaultier starting with the fall 2011 collection. We’re relieved they figured that out now, rather than leaving us speculating over the situation for months, as happens with so many houses.
