PUMA Profile – Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero

Here we get a butchers at a Puma Profile on Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero:

“Argentina and Manchester City star Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero has been a revelation wherever he has played; winning plaudits, matches and the hearts of fans all over the world!

PUMA Profile - Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero

It seems young Sergio, affectionately known as ‘Kun’ was destined for great things, having made his professional debut for Independiente at the tender age of 15 years and 35 days old; making him the youngest player EVER to appear in Argentine First Division. Not only that, ‘Kun’ broke the record established by the legendary Diego Maradona, who is not only the father of Argentinean football, but also happens to be his father-in-law too!

Sergio lived up to his promise to become one of the hottest properties in football after bagging an astonishing 23 goals in just over 50 games, with Athletico Madrid eventually winning the race for his signature in a record-breaking transfer. ‘Kun’ who is equally happy playing as a forward or dropping a bit deeper didn’t take long to find his feet in La Liga and was soon firing his side into the Champions League for the time in more than a decade!

It was his virtuoso performances in Spain over a five year period that led to big-spending Manchester City to declare an interest in signing the Argentine superstar and this summer ‘Kun’ made the move to the Premiership for a reported £35 million! Sergio’s agility, pace and strength make him perfectly suited to the best league in the world and ‘Kun’ looks to be settling in incredibly well having bagged seven goals in four Premiership appearances!”

PUMA x Mihara AW11′ Collection

We’re big fans of Puma here at Kitmeout and always looking to grab a butchers at their latest exploits. Here we go with the PUMA x Mihara AW11′ Collection

PUMA x Mihara AW11' Collection

Mihara bends and stretches the limits of design by stepping even further into its brave world of boundless imagination. This season, the collection explores the more playful side of geometry—shapes and formulas that are near whimsical in their faultlessness. Footwear is harnessed with all over straps (akin to a multi-colored rubber band ball) and bolder-than-bold color combinations. Textured polka dots jut from soft leathers, as materials turn signature silhouettes into play things, and atypical forms and functions are paired to produce a whole that’s grounded in logic but geared to dodge reason and pass expectation.

Armani to cease sandblasting jeans

Giorgio Armani has committed to ban the dangerous practice of sandblasting jeans, a technique used to give jeans a worn look which seriously damages the health of workers.

“In regard to the sandblasting finish applied to certain garments, the Armani Group wishes to make clear that this technique has been eliminated from our production processes starting from the autumn-winter 2011/2012 collection that is currently available in the stores worldwide,” Armani announced.

“What has happened here is incredible,” said Meredith Slater, an organizer with “People from all over the world came together to ask Armani to eliminate a practice that endangered workers, and the company responded by saying that it would ban sandblasting immediately.”

“We welcome Armani’s decision to stop sandblasting starting from the autumn-winter 2011/2012 collection,” said Deborah Lucchetti, the Clean Clothes Campaign’s Italy coordinator. “We will be following up with the brand to provide information as to how they will be implementing the ban and monitoring their supply chains.”

Missoni Collection crashes Target website

Missoni Collection crashes Target website

Via AP:

Missoni for Target collection of bikes, luggage, clothes and housewares was so popular that it crashed the Target website several times.

The 400-piece line made by the Italian luxury knitwear designer Missoni exclusively for the cheap chic retailer features its trademark zig-zag patterns for between $2.99 for stationary and $599.99 for patio furniture — a fraction of the price of the designer’s real duds that can cost $595 to $1,500.

“This was Missoni mayhem,” said Joshua Thomas, a Target spokesman. “This is unprecedented.”

Some shoppers already are trying to capitalize on the fleeting nature of the Target’s Missoni collection. As of Tuesday afternoon, there were 1,591 listings for Missoni for Target on that were selling for more than double the price found at the discounter. Travel totes were going for $169, while shoes were selling for $129.99.

The Danner Mountain Light Lownsdale

The Danner Mountain Light Lownsdale is the first collaboration between two Portland, Oregon companies with a deep commitment to lasting quality: Danner and Tanner Goods. The Lownsdale is constructed of genuine Chromexcel leather, from the world famous Horween tannery in Chicago, and is the first of its kind to be created at the factory in Portland. Chromexcel is famous for its luxurious and unique pull-up character. Each hide takes roughly 28 days to be matured and ready for use, and develops an amazing patina with age and use. The Lownsdale takes its name from Daniel H. Lownsdale, one of the founders of Portland, who established the city’s first tannery around 1845. Interestingly, its location is now the home of the Portland Timbers soccer (football if you’re true to the game) club. Anyone who knows us knows that when we root, we root for the Timbers.

Duckie Brown Clothing S/S 2012 Collection

Steven Cox and Daniel Silver of cult menswear label Duckie Brown share their S/S 2012 Collection.

“I’ve been spending a lot of time in London, drinking in pubs,” said Cox, who originally hails from England, backstage. “I’ve been thinking about the Bexleyheath boys (the clan south of the river)” he goes on. Nice one Steve…lol

“Real Bexleyheath boys would probably kick your ass,” Cox said backstage, laughing. Steve obviously doesn’t have a handle on the true inner workings of the london lad hierarchy. Maybe a visit to Bermondsey would put his bonce in gear to reality. But Steve we get your point about painting a picture of fantasy, so hats off to you mate!

“The collection is always about a lot of things. We don’t know where it all comes from. Sometimes it’s just a feeling,” said Silver before adding, “Why, do you want us to make up some story about inspiration for you?”

Vivienne Westwood versus Hervia

One of Kitmeout’s favourite brands, Vivienne Westwood, has been issued with legal proceedings by Hervia.

Hervia Limited, which operates seven Vivienne Westwood shops in regional cities, has issued High Court proceedings for breach of contract after the designer sought to end a long-standing franchise agreement in June.

“The litigation relates to an attempt by Vivienne Westwood to terminate an existing franchise agreement which has been in place between both parties since 1995, allowing Hervia to operate branded stores in the North of England and Midlands for a total of 60 years,” Hervia said.

60 years! Really? That is one messed up agreement if true.

Vivienne Westwood versus Hervia

Vivienne Westwood said it was fighting back, adding that it had successfully defended Hervia’s application for an interim injunction, which was refused by the court.

“While proceedings are ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further on the matter, save to say that pending the outcome of the litigation, the parties will continue to work together in the best interests of the brand,” it said.

Lacoste asks Norway police to ban gunman

Lacoste aren’t happy about mass murderer, Anders Behring Breivik, wearing their garb. Much like the drug dealers and murders in South America who are famous for wearing Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste fear the connection will have a negative impact on their brand.

Anders Behring Breivik, the 32-year-old gunman who killed 77 people on July 22 even wrote in his online manifesto that “refined people like him should wear brands like Lacoste”.

French daily Liberation added: “This situation is clearly a nightmare for one of France’s most distinguished clothing companies.”

We are always happy to give Hardy a shout on Kitmeout. The brand is top drawer. Stop by their Great Pulteney Street shop up west and take a butchers.

Hardy Blechman is the founder, creative director and head designer of UK fashion label maharishi.

Blechman, whose experience lay in international military and industrial clothing, founded maharishi in 1995 by producing hemp and other natural fibre clothing and recycling workwear and military surplus.

In the brand’s first year Blechman designed and launched the now iconic Snopants, described by Arena Homme Plus as the most copied pants of the decade they remain the brand’s signature.

By 1999 Blechman was producing comprehensive collections for men, women and children and only a year later was named the British Fashion Council’s Streetwear Designer of the Year.

Blechman launched a second line, MHI, in 2001, set up the non-violent toy company mahatoys in 2003 and in 2004, released his first book. The 944 page encyclopedia DPM Disruptive Pattern Material won Best Book of 2004 in Wallpaper’s Design Awards issue and was named one of the Books of the Year 2004 by The Daily Telegraph.

Today, maharishi remains a privately owned company with Blechman’s founding values in tact. Respect for nature, dedication to the use of natural fibres, unrivalled attention to detail, the use of technology and a personal passion for art are strongly evident in Blechman’s collections to this day.

Sustainable Fashion, Organic Cotton and H&M

Sustainable Fashion, Organic Cotton and H&M

According to a report by Textile Exchange (formerly Organic Exchange) re-leased today, neither the recession nor unstable economies put a damper on the fast-growing organic textiles industry which grew 20 percent to an estimated $5.16 billion in 2010.

According to the results of TE surveys and interviews used to develop the 2010 Global Market Report on Sustainable Textiles, the Top Ten organic cotton-using brands and retailers globally last year were: H&M (Sweden), C&A (Belgium), Nike, Inc. (Oregon, USA), Inditex (Zara) (Spain), adidas (Germany), Greensource (Washington, USA), Anvil (New York, USA), Target (Minnesota, USA), Disney Consumer Products (California, USA) and Otto Group (Germany).

“Consumers continue to be committed to supporting the use of organic cotton and other sustainable fibers, while brands and retailers continue to make their product lines more sustainable by continuing to increase their use of such fibers and safer, more innovative manufacturing processes,” said LaRhea Pepper, Textile Exchange managing director.

The evian bottle by Courreges

The evian bottle by Courreges

evian has this year partnered up with French fashion designer Courreges to imagine a new limited edition bottle. This design combines evian’s free-minded spirit with the House of Courreges’ nonconventional creativity.

Courreges, approaching the eve of its 50-year anniversary, is known for pioneering key trends though the decades, from having discovered pants for women in 1963 to starting the mini-skirt revolution. The house of Courreges is driven by the will to free women from the classical conventions of fashion by developing new forms, implementing new materials and using vibrant colors.

The evian bottle by Courreges, launching globally September 8, features the design house’s elegant white and pink emblematic flower (introduced in 1967) on the backdrop of evian’s iconic glass bottle silhouette. Printed with organic ink for the first time, the bottle is composed of 100% recyclable packaging.

To celebrate its launch in conjunction with Fashion’s Night Out, evian will be introducing the bottle at Jeffrey New York and Colette in Paris, where the design will be on display.

The bottle will be available in select restaurants and hotels as of November 2011 and online at for pre-order.
