‘Fur is Red with a hint of Green?

The charming folks over at the Fur Council continue to run their “fur is green” campaign despite the mountain of evidence against such a claim. They persist with the false statement: “Synthetics are generally made from petroleum (a non-renewable resource), which is NOT consistent with the sustainable use of our environment. The production, transportation and disposal of petrochemicals can cause environmental problems.” in a feable attempt to justify the mindless abuse that funds their campaign.

In this socially and environmentally aware era most folks know: It takes more than 60 times as much energy to produce a fur coat from ranch-raised animals than it does to produce a fake fur. Plus, the waste produced on fur farms poisons our waterways. And don’t forget … unlike faux fur, the “real thing” causes millions of animals to suffer every year. Moreover, the general production of animal skins via the fur and leather industry causes more CO2 to be released into the atmosphere than all the cars in the world combined.

Hopefully, the brave green world will enlighten all folks even the colour-blind.
