Cesare Paciotti Shoes to Clothing 4USThe mighty Cesare Paciotti, best known as an Italian luxury footwear company, is expanding into the ready-to-wear sector under a new label, Paciotti 4US. The company, famous for its dagger logo and exquisite shoes, opened its first standalone ready-to-wear boutique in Rome earlier this month. In a statement, designer Paciotti said: “I translated the 4US style in a leisure time collection. It’s luxury sportswear, it’s about comfort and it should mirror the 4US spirit.”
Paciotti plans to present the new collection during Milan Men’s Fashion Week with an event on Jan. 14. A new showroom in central Via Sant’Andrea will also help support sales and communications efforts.

Whilst the 4US collection previously existed, it only included a limited number of items, such as sweatshirts, T-shirts and denim jeans. Since the original launch of the label, the designer has expanded it to build a comprehensive line for men and women, adding cargo pants, polo shirts, knit tops and down jackets.

Distribution of the ready-to-wear is still in its early phase. The brand currently has the brand has over 900 stockists worldwide, although Paciotti is planning to be more selective and reduce it store presence.

Nudie Jeans claims Amnesty!

Nudie Jeans claims Amnesty! For AW07, Nudie Jeans have teamed up with Amnesty International in Sweden to create a Human Rights T-shirt collection. Each shirt represents one of the 30 articles of the UN Declaration of Human Rights and was donated by the designers who took part in this project.

Wahoojin is a Japanese company that was established in the year 2005. The concept of Wahoojin is to create high quality, yet fun and fashionable denim by using historical Kimono hand paintings (Yu-Zen). Wahoojin wishes to inspire all.

The upcoming Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest is scheduled for the 14th Jan 2008, the first night of the Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall Winter 2009.

From more than 200 entries, a total of 18 finalists are selected to enter 3 groups of categories: “Casual & Jeans-wear Group”, “Contemporary Daywear Group” and the “Party and Evening-wear Group”. And a total of 6 prizes will be announced and presented after the Contest. The awards includes a winner of each of the three categories, City Magazine Prize (sponsored by City Magazine), “The Most Innovative Collection” (sponsored by the YD Alumni Club) and the Overall Winner Prize.

Hedi Slimane post Dior Homme Fashion designer Hedi Slimane, who abruptly parted ways with Dior Homme in March after a seven-year stint at the helm, is staging a rock exhibit at Galerie Almine Rech in the Marais district through January. Entitled “Perfect Stranger,” it features Slimane’s shots of fans he made during the Benicassim rock festival in Spain last July. Sounds like the perfect sabbatical for the fashion guru.

David Beckham x Armani Underwear

David Beckham x Armani UnderwearDavid Beckham exposed one of his most intimate photos to date as the new face  of Armani Underwear. The shot is the ex Man Utd and Real Madrid star’s first American advert for the Italian underwear giant, with several more planned for next season.

Reputedly Beckham has signed a three-year deal, rumoured to be worth up to $20 million and his images will be seen on billboards in major cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, Rome, Paris and Tokyo.

The ad will be used to boost Beckham’s US fan base when the ad debuts in a special gatefold in the February edition of Vanity Fair USA, according to China Daily. The Daily Mail, declared Beckham’s foray into the world of underwear marketing as “gay erotica”.

Victoria Beckham goes naked!? Victoria Beckham will front the new Marc Jacobs campaign for his Spring 2008 collection. Rumour has it Posh Spice posed naked for the shoot. Beckham posed for the campaign in a shoot done by Jacobs’ photographer, Juergen Teller.”She was a great sport. She agreed to do something rough and tough and quite raw,” Jacobs told Womens Wear Daily. “It wasn’t days and days of hair and makeup.”

Pepe Jeans x Andy WarholPepe Jeans CoLabs with Andy Warhol to launch their new collection. Pepe Jeans has acquired the European license through the Andy Warhol Foundation. Pepe Jeans reputedly wants to embrace the Andy Warhol’s sophisticated sense of design and they aspire to make their denim as collectible as the man’s art.

The collection will feature 250 men’s and women’s pieces inspired by Andy Warhol. The collection will be divided into a Pop and Factory collection. The Pop designs will have more of the repetitive prints as the Campbell’s Soup Cans and Marilyns, and Factory will feature the individual style of Andy Warhol’s studio members. The range will be available autumn 2008.

Adidas Originals and Diesel are the latest Co Lab Tag Team and are launching adidas Originals Denim by Diesel early next year. 2 menswear and 2 ladieswear styles will be available in four different washes exclusively at adidas Originals stores all around the world starting spring/summer 2008. Prices range from 160 Euro for the female adi-rohnary model up to 210 Euro for the male adi-viker model.

The Co Lab is a first for Diesel to team up with another lifestyle brand. Renzo Rosso President of Diesel said: “..we wanted to do it with adidas that shares with us the same fresh attitude and care for high quality and creativity” said Renzo Rosso, President of Diesel.
