PUMA is following the NOHARM lead further by producing clothes and trainers that are compostable. PUMA’s CEO Franz Koch told the German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche:
“We are confident that in the near future we will be able to bring the first shoes, T-shirts and bags, that are either compostable or recyclable, to the market. It follows two circuits, the technical and the biological: I can use old shoes to make new ones or something completely different, such as car tyres. In the biological cycle, I can make shoes and shirts that are compostable so I can shred them and bury them in the back garden. We are working on products that meet these two criteria.”
PUMA introduces PUMAGILITY but know this is not your average trainer. It’s reinforced with a stable design that doesn’t compromise on comfort and flex. How’d we do it? We used super lightweight foam shapes that compress on impact (ahem, flexibility aplenty) and widen the base (cue maximum stability). We even threw in a few flex grooves for enhanced, smooth side-to-side movement while training. Put it all together and you get a shoe that not only moves with you, it moves for you—now get going. In PUMA’s new commercial to launch PUMAGILITY, we get a glimpse of a young runner’s journey through the city with his new PUMAGILITY shoes, demonstrating how he gets moving. PUMAGILITY offers stability and flexibility for all your cross training needs.
Here we get a butchers at a Puma Profile on Sergio ‘Kun’ Aguero:
“Argentina and Manchester City star Sergio ‘Kun’ Agüero has been a revelation wherever he has played; winning plaudits, matches and the hearts of fans all over the world!
It seems young Sergio, affectionately known as ‘Kun’ was destined for great things, having made his professional debut for Independiente at the tender age of 15 years and 35 days old; making him the youngest player EVER to appear in Argentine First Division. Not only that, ‘Kun’ broke the record established by the legendary Diego Maradona, who is not only the father of Argentinean football, but also happens to be his father-in-law too!
Sergio lived up to his promise to become one of the hottest properties in football after bagging an astonishing 23 goals in just over 50 games, with Athletico Madrid eventually winning the race for his signature in a record-breaking transfer. ‘Kun’ who is equally happy playing as a forward or dropping a bit deeper didn’t take long to find his feet in La Liga and was soon firing his side into the Champions League for the time in more than a decade!
It was his virtuoso performances in Spain over a five year period that led to big-spending Manchester City to declare an interest in signing the Argentine superstar and this summer ‘Kun’ made the move to the Premiership for a reported £35 million! Sergio’s agility, pace and strength make him perfectly suited to the best league in the world and ‘Kun’ looks to be settling in incredibly well having bagged seven goals in four Premiership appearances!”
We’re big fans of Puma here at Kitmeout and always looking to grab a butchers at their latest exploits. Here we go with the PUMA x Mihara AW11′ Collection
Mihara bends and stretches the limits of design by stepping even further into its brave world of boundless imagination. This season, the collection explores the more playful side of geometry—shapes and formulas that are near whimsical in their faultlessness. Footwear is harnessed with all over straps (akin to a multi-colored rubber band ball) and bolder-than-bold color combinations. Textured polka dots jut from soft leathers, as materials turn signature silhouettes into play things, and atypical forms and functions are paired to produce a whole that’s grounded in logic but geared to dodge reason and pass expectation.
PUMA x STREB dance company. Prepare to be amazed by the physical phenomenon that is STREB, the dance company featured in PUMA’s Spring/Summer Sportslifestyle campaign. The founder and legendary choreographer, Elizabeth Streb, coins the studio’s unusual technique “PopAction.†This untraditional art form draws upon things like dance, extreme sports, boxing, the circus, and Hollywood stunt work. As if this wasn’t enough, STREB also uses daring and strict precision to display the effects of ‘pure movement.’
Tucked away behind the main screen on PUMA’s homepage, you will find your backstage pass to a STREB performance where PUMA gear gets put to the ultimate test. STREB dancers found PUMA footwear and apparel to be the perfect fit in complimenting their “PopAction†style of dance. Together with PUMA, STREB combines unique movements and bold colors to create a futuristic feel.
