Burberry is pleased to announce the opening of a Burberry Brit store in Milan – the first Burberry Brit store in Europe.

The 250 square metre store opened on Corso Venezia on 27 November.

British materials and themes used throughout the store in a contemporary and innovative way with flat screen LED video walls showcasing Burberry digital content.

In celebration of Nike Sportswear’s latest icon, the Destroyer Jacket, and to launch the Destroyer City Jackets, a group of athletes, artist and musicians converged on London’s 1948 to witness and perform of creative destruction.

Here NSW unveils a full length version documentary showcasing the chosen few who took part in the project. The collaborators including professional cyclist Mark Cavendish, artist Jeweller Duffy, Ohio rapper STALLEY and Amsterdam based Design House I Have Pop among many others. Jean Paul Gaultier retrospective

Jean Paul Gaultier retrospective

Jean Paul Gaultier is to honoured with a retrospective at The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA). Curated by Thierry-Maxime Loriot, the exhibition celebrates 35 influential years of the Paris-based designer, opening late Spring 2011.

Titled ‘The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk’ will showcase about 120 haute couture and ready-to-wear pieces for women and men from 1976 to 2010.

Jean Paul Gaultier retrospectiveThe exhibition celebrates the designer’s multi and counter-cultural design aesthetic and is divided into five sections: “Paris,” “Fusions” “Multi-Gender,” “Eurotrash/X- Rated” and “Metropolis.” In addition to the clothes, museum goers will also get the chance to explore the designer’s many collaborations. Throughout the years he’s combined forces with filmmakers Peter Greenaway, Luc Besson, Caro and Jeunet, and Pedro Almodóvar. In the dance world he’s worked with choreographers Maurice Béjart, Angelin Preljocaj and Régine Chopinot. Gaultier’s also made an impact with both French and American musicians from Yvette Horner, Les Rita Mitsouko to Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Lady Gaga.

The exhibit will hit the U.S. next year when it comes to the Dallas Museum of Art from November 13th to February 12th, and San Francisco’s de Young Museum from March 24th to August 29th. Nathalie Bondil, MMFA’s director and chief curator lead the project with the help of Thierry-Maxime Loriot and fashion historian Florence Müller.

A book accompanying the exhibition will also be released. The 425 page volume boasts 500 pictures and interviews with stars like Madonna, Pedro Almodóvar, Catherine Deneuve, Farida Khelfa, Martin Margiela, Pierre Cardin and Dita Von Teese.

Billy Reid Named CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Winner

A new crop of American design talent has been crowned.

Billy Reid is this year’s winner of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, taking home an award of $300,000 and a trophy of a bronze swan by Rachel Feinstein.

Eddie Borgo and Prabal Gurung were named runners-up, each collecting $100,000 and trophies in the shape of bronze eggs by the New York artist. The winner and runners-up were selected from a group of 10 finalists and unveiled at a dinner gala at Skylight SoHo here on Monday evening, which featured Karl Lagerfeld as the keynote speaker. The other finalists were Joseph Altuzarra of Altuzarra, Christian Cota, Robert Geller, Oliver Helden and Paul Marlow of Loden Dager, Pamela Love of Pamela Love Jewelry, Moss Lipow and Gregory Parkinson.

The fashion fund, now in its seventh year, was created by the CFDA and Vogue magazine to help cultivate emerging talents with a combination of a cash prize and a mentorship program by industry leaders. This year, cash prizes increased for the fund, which is in a partnership with J. Crew and underwritten by L’Oréal Paris, Nordstrom, Theory, American Express, Barneys New York, Coach, Juicy Couture, Appleman Foundation, Liz Claiborne Inc., Lord & Taylor, and Vogue.

The 2010 Awards gala was underwritten by eBay.

Nike’s release of director Casey Neistat’s new short movie ‘Mind Games’. Written years ago when Casey first started running, this 2.5 minute short explores the mind games runners face and the ideas one focuses on while the body is giving it all.

His film was commissioned to be made while he trained in NYC for the New York Marathon this year, to help celebrate the Nike way of showing creativity through sport. Casey carried a small HD video camera with him on runs for 3 weeks to shoot the movie and the music was done by Jordan Galland, a good friend and long time collaborator of Casey’s.

As part of the Sisley Art Project benefiting the Andy Warhol Museum, 18 customized motorcycle jackets by 17 pop artists of the contemporary art scene will be auctioned at Christie’s, New York on Monday, November 8, from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Curated by Glenn O’Brien, the project is sponsored by Sisley, the Italian fashion brand of the Benetton Group.

The guest list for the cocktail reception and live auction include Alessandro Benetton, Executive Deputy Chairman of Benetton Group; Thomas Sokolowski, Director of the Andy Warhol Museum; Glenn O’Brien, curator; Hosts Vincent Fremont, Jane Holzer, Jay Johnson, Peter Marino and Tony Shafrazi.

Patch William are a London based four-piece consisting of brothers Will and Ed Adlard, and friends George Eddy and Ali Digby. Since their first gig at Bristol University in the summer of 2007, the band’s unique and crafted sound has seen them receive a host of acclaim.

Patch William are about to release their debut, eponymously titled album. As fan Stephen Fry suggested on his twitter page, “Might Patch William be the next big thing? They seem rather wonderful to me.”

In a move reminiscent of Che Guevara’s (sort-of) coming-of-age biopic The Motorcycle Diaries, Apolis Activism co-founder Raan Parton and videographer Dave Christenson hop on vintage Russian Minsk bikes and travel across Vietnam to film their yearly documentary for the brand while field-testing an assortment of their outdoor autumn collection throughout the trip. Motorcycling their way down the Ho Chih Minh trail, which runs from North to South Vietnam, Parton and Christenson hope to document modern Vietnam’s cultural delights regularly on the Apolis Activism’s website, culminating in a film being released upon their return.
