Vintage Revolution (VR) Jeans

Vintage Revolution (VR) Jeans

Entering the highly competitive premium denim market, Vintage Revolution (VR) Jeans has an advantage over its competitors. For its debut this Fall 2010, VR Jeans will land in over 400 major department and specialty stores that include Bloomingdale’s, Fred Segal, Lisa Kline, E Street Denim and National Jean Company among others.

With a retail price range of $118-$148, these new jeans for men and women is definitely on the affordable luxury level.

Founded by Jose JuanMarcos, a third generation owner of one of the largest and most technologically advanced premium denim factories in North America and helmed by Michael Press as brand President, VR Jeans is poised to revolutionize the U.S. jeans market.

Michael Press explains, “We are a breath of fresh air in the denim market, a true denim brand with classic fits and a broad range of indigo washes, not just dark and skinny. We have repeatedly heard from buyers that our line has the best palette of washes they’ve seen in a long time.”

“Our jeans are crafted by a 40 year-old denim powerhouse in North America, so we are returning to denim’s ‘true blue’ roots while also incorporating new techniques and sustainable factory practices,” Press added.

As a factory owned brand, VR offers a unique benefit to both retailers and consumers by bringing a superior premium denim product to the market at a price that the majority of other denim brands can’t match.

Thomas George, buyer for E Street Denim in Chicago says, “VR starts the move toward denim heritage – simple, straight forward, and easy to buy for both the store and the consumer.”

VR draws inspiration from the definition of its name – a celebration of timeless style coupled with a spirit of rebellion that is reflected in each piece they create. VR rebels against assembly line jeans and the inflated ideas about premium denim that exploded over the past decade.

The VR customer wants to throw on their favorite pair of jeans and wear them without thinking, because they’re busy living their lives.

Vintage Revolution is based in New York City at 250 West 39th Street, Suite 1800 in the heart of the fashion district.

Brioni boutique in Tokyo

Brioni boutique in Tokyo

Brioni continues its worldwide expansion with the opening of a Brioni boutique in Tokyo, which also strengthens the label’s presence in the Far East.

Located in the Ginza district, the Brioni boutique occupies two floors totaling 300 square meters of retail space with room set aside for custom tailoring.

Designed by Ignazio Galante and Nicholas Menichini of the Studio Galante-Menichini Architects, the new Tokyo location offers offers a refined and clever use of precious lacquer, brass, bronze and parchment.

The travertine floors and sisal, along with velvet curtains offer an atmosphere of “Made in Italy” which has been combined with several references to Japanese culture as exemplified by the wooden reeds wall that has been constructed to emulate the traditional internal divisions of homes and buildings in Japan.

Tradition and technology are fused with regards to interior lighting – a new system “Soft Architecture” which just presented by Flos during the recently concluded Salone de Mobile in Milan – was used.

But what makes this truly unique and distinctive boutique is the exterior: built with noble materials like quarry-rough slate, metal and bronze, shiny black stage presence brings new block, thanks to the decorative elements that create a spherical lamellas of dimensionality.

The shop will offer both men’s and women’s collection and accessories.

Adidas Visits the Star Wars Cantina with David Beckham

Adidas is going viral for the upcoming FIFA World Cup! In an unprecedented visit to the Star Wars: A New Hope (a.k.a. as the Original Star Wars), David Beckham, Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Noel Gallagher, Daft Punk and the godfather of German soccer, Franz Beckenbauer recreate the famous cantina scene.

For Star Wars fan, the scene is instantly recognizable with the iconic jazzy background music that sets the scene.

David Beckham (wearing an Adidas hoodie), Snoop Dogg, Ciara, Noel Gallagher, Daft Punk and the godfather of German soccer, Franz Beckenbauer meet up with Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3P0 and Obi-Wan Kenobi in the actual scenes of the acclaimed film.

In an first-time, first-of-its-kind, collaboration with Lucas Film Ltd, worlds collide with movie magic: Harrison Ford as Han Solo looks on as Snoop waves a light saber and Greedo confronts David Beckham directly.

To seamlessly integrate new shots of David Beckham, Snoop Dogg and company into original Star Wars footage, a set was created to replicate the original dimensions of the iconic “Mos Eisley Cantina” featured in the film. Flame software was used to composite (superimpose) the old and new shots together blending the edges seamlessly.

While an edited Cantina spot will air during the much-anticipated US vs. UK World Cup match on June 12th, below is the full extended footage for you to enjoy!

The Yoropiko Starwars jeans were the original film colabs and make a perfect match for the adidas trainers.

Transformable Warrior shoes

Transformable Warrior shoes

From an urban warrior to a gladiator, from a sneaker to a sandal, the Transformable Warrior shoes give the phrase “a change of shoes” a brand new meaning.

Designed by Kim Kiroic to go with Juun J.’s Fall 2010/ Winter 2011 collection and unveiled in Paris last January, the Transformable Warrior shoes “transforms” from a sneaker to a sandal with the help of a YKK top lever Excella metal zipper in connecting the upper and the sole.

When the zipper is close, the sneaker is a future warrior’s shoe. When the zipper is open, the sneaker transforms to a sandal. Now, how cool is that?

The Transformable Warriors sneaker is available in three colors – red, white and black. It is sold at some top boutiques around the world including Seven New York.

Liv Tyler for G-Star

Liv Tyler for G-Star

Described as Elegant Denim, the G-Star Raw Low-T collection fuses the G-Star DNA with the unique style of actress and model Liv Tyler to create a range that embraces the look and feel of the modern G-Star woman; cool, sophisticated and controlled.

Skinny, tapered and loose-tapered denim fits are executed in soft, feminine fabrics, with a color palette ranging from fresh blue to a shiny, leather-look black.

All three denim silhouettes have a longer inseam to look great with high heels, and are available in flattering, soft-stretch denim fabrics, as well as Elastene-impregnated comfort denim.

G-Star’s traditional fusion of raw and elegant elements can be seen in the contrast of denim skirts in a broad selection of washes and finishes with sensual tops in a restrained colour palette and super-lightweight fabrics, including the sleeveless Low-T Top and the Low-T Dress Shirt with its half-length sleeve and neck-tie detailing.

A crepe bomber jacket and boxy-cut dinner jacket complete the range.
