Rag & Bone Jeans + Rag & Bone Apparel = Edgy Workwear!

Rag & Bone Jeans + Rag & Bone Apparel = Edgy Workwear!Rag & Bone Apparel is attracting well-deserved attention of late. The designs are highly original and the whole feel of the Collection is clean and edgy. Rag & Bone was born in 2001 through the shared frustrations of not being able to find the type of clothing the founders wanted to wear. They felt that there were also some very fundamental pieces missing from the process behind the product, namely the methods of manufacturing and the fabrics being used.

Initially they were drawn to denim and jeans because thay held so many of the values they felt relevant to Rag & Bone. They believe that jeans represent history, authenticity and fundamentals. Rag & Bone wanted to fuse these elements with all the clothing they set out to design and to produce collections that reflected the same qualities that they saw in classic work wear. We all missed the Rag & Bone man — at last he’s back!

Kris Van Assche Clothing, from Dior Homme to YSL“Kris Van Assche was born in Belgium in 1976. Shortly after graduating from the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, he moved to Paris in 1998. After working with Hedi Slimane at Yves Saint Laurent and then for Dior Homme, be began to show his original creations in January 2005. Today the man heads his own label: Kris Van Assche.”

Now that’s great and the fact is Kris Van Assche is a terrific designer but why is the following nonsense added to his bio:

“Impelled by the vision of a man who takes the time to “dress up”, Kris Van Assche has embarked on an aesthetic quest, persuing a new masculinity infused with poetry and authenticity.”

What is this new masculinity? Is it the metrosexual masculinity so common today among a certain breed of pussified men or is it something else? Whatever it is, Kris Van Assche would be far better off letting his clothing do the talking!

Ella Moss Clothing + Ella Moss Fashion = Hip-Couture!

Ella Moss Clothing + Ella Moss Fashion = Hip-Couture!Designer Pamella Protzel is an LA girl at heart, and her hip, fun and quirky Ella Moss collection reflects that. From daily after-school trips to Beverly Hills as a middle schooler to Parisian flea market excursions as a teen, Protzel has always been inspired by art, fashion, people and traveling. A true style prodigy, at 27, Protzel has already established Ella Moss as one of the hottest, fastest-growing collections within the contemporary arena.

During college, Protzel’s stylist friends raided her closet for her handmade T-shirts and prized vintage pieces to take on photo shoots. It was then that she realized fashion was her true calling. Transferring from Pasadena’s Art Center as a graphic design student, Protzel arrived at The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles without knowing how to make a pattern. As a gifted artist, she started drawing the silhouettes and loved learning how make her designs come to fruition.

Rather than use a scientific approach to fashion design, Protzel relies on her discerning eye and intuition, working with her hands, cutting up T-shirts and experimenting with different dyes and fabrications for each piece. When designing the green striped cotton dress Sarah Jessica Parker wore on Sex and The City, Protzel describes the process as more instinctual than calculated. “People ask what my inspiration was for the striped dress group, but I wasn’t actually thinking about specific eras or trends,” says Protzel. “I just wanted to create a flowy, feminine dress that had the comfort level a T-shirt. For me, the design process is more organic.”

Although the line has attracted celebrity fans like Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Kirsten Dunst and Liv Tyler, Protzel doesn’t have plans to create Red Carpet gowns any time soon. Radiating effortless style, Ella Moss is casual, comfortable and fashionable, and each piece can always work back to jeans and flip-flops.

Known for bright color palettes, simple shapes, soft, wearable cottons and tonal stripes, Ella Moss strikes a delicate balance of being edgy and vintage, without being over-the-top trendy. Recently featured on The Today Show, the collection is coveted by everyone from young, downtown trendsetters to hip mothers.

Apee Clothing by Ape Clothing -- chauvinistic? It’s official at last, A Bathing Ape is not misogynistic!! For sometime now the fashion community have been trying to establish why Nigo and his Bathing Ape brand have generally neglected the fairer sex. As we know, Bape menswear is a true fashion phenomenon but comparatively speaking Bape womenswear, or Apee, was seen as non-existent and some commentators even suggested the limited range was belittling and chauvinistic! No longer – Apee, the ladieswear collection is now flying high and proud across the globe! At last…

The purity of the lines stems from the desire to bring sportswear back to the classic, classy roots where it belongs. The collection is made of thought-through pieces that are superior in both quality and design, adaptable and modern. These are real basics: authentic, subtle, and above all highly multipurpose.

The collection revolves around two main themes built upon iconic items of clothing. Chinos, with their perfect balance of casual and formal, are there to ignite that truly American vibe. Complimented by multi-striped polo shirts in vivid Crayola brights, blousons and clean separates. The refined, Sea Wolf theme in a strict palette of blue and white, Stripy tops, t-shirts, fine knits, skirts, denim peacoats and white chinos are the core of the proposals in luxurious materials such as linen and natural indigo dyes. This Marina spirit also features in the denim jeans section of the collection, with sailor inspired pants and light weight denim.

Wrangler Jeans + Wrangler Denim Pants = Mainstream Revival!

Wrangler Jeans + Wrangler Denim Pants = Mainstream Revival!1904 C.C. Hudson founds his C.C. Hudson Overall Company. 1919 The company is renamed to „Blue Bell Company“. 1947 C.C. 50’s Americana, early science fiction and its strong belief in the future are the creative sources of “Space Odyssey”. The feeling of “everything is possible” inspires new styles and finishes. “Inca Trail” takes its inspiration from the early south American civilization. This nature-related collection mainly uses organic materials and coloration. Tribal details of the Inca culture appear in embroideries and flock prints. With “Diamonds and Dirt” Wrangler offers additional styles for chicks that rock and reflects the glamorous and dirty life on the road.

Men’s fits vary from slim/straight to baggy, featuring an update of styles like Sharkey and Floyd. The most striking feature in women’s jeans is the rope ‘W’ stitched over both back pockets. Throughout the women’s jeans collection the backpatch is also replaced by a stitched equivalent. Introduced in 2005 Wrangler B.Y is still too new to have a history of its own but clearly aware of its roots in Wrangler’s jeans experience. Striped fabric and the brand related colors Yellow and Electric Blue are just examples of the strong and vivid B.Y DNA. With its small but strong collection of jeans and tops Wrangler B.Y heads into the future of jeans and lifestyle.

Creative Recreation Shoes x Cr8tive Recreation Sneakers

Creative Recreation Shoes x Cr8tive Recreation SneakersCreative Recreation Shoes are attracting well-deserved attention. Their designs are fresh and creative and have an urban chic vibe. Worth a good long butchers for sure!

Realizing that this generation was not going to follow in the same footsteps as the one before them Creative Recreation began their own journey. Being successful in this generation did not require wearing a suit and tie rather it was just the opposite. This generation is in more control or their destiny and their careers. This genre has become known for its entrepreneurial drive. Along with this came freedoms of fashion in the work place and in other social setting.

With these inspirations behind them Creative Recreation set out to fill this void. The two founders simply set out to design shoes that they wanted to wear. By sampling the best aspects from other footwear categories they have incorporated the comfort of an athletic sneaker combined with the materialization of a dress shoe to create the ultimate crossbreed.

Many people have difficulties understanding what category Creative Recreation footwear falls into. That has been the best compliment to the founders. “We don’t want to be put into any category, were a footwear company! We make shoes for our lifestyle, rather we make shoes for life with style”.

Garbege T-Shirt x Garbege Hoody = VS. Series

Garbege T-Shirt x Garbege Hoody = VS. SeriesIn Autumn/Winter ’06, the key phrase at garbege is: Opposites Attract because of the contradiction created through the fusion of two similar, yet opposite, ideas. The selections’ theme, the “VS. Series” explores the union of two different elements on one canvas – a “Mash-Up”, which is an English/Jamaican term that means to blend two seemingly dissimilar music types into one that is designed to outshine each original. garbege internalized this theory for a Fashion Mash-Up, which seamlessly blends two of America’s most influential forms of pop culture, Rock & Roll and Hip Hop.

garbege adds graphic based cotton-cashmere blend Sweat Shirts & Hoodies to its arsenal of thought-provoking, incomparable T-Shirts this Fall. The attention to detail the label has become known for is noticeable with the use of specialized treatments and appliqués throughout the line to emphasize the conflicts and similarities of the two worlds. The Metal Band Metallica vs. Hip Hop pioneer, Africa Bambaataa inspired TShirt ($120 retail) & Sweatshirt/Hoodie ($300 retail) infuses the “Bling” of 80’s Rock and 90’s Rap culture through the use of Red Patent Leather, Black Swarovski Crystals and a Green Metallic Foil screen print. British rockers Led Zeppelin vs. the rap duo RUN DMC inspired a Tee ($40 retail) & Sweater ($120 retail) which includes Patent Leather patchwork and a soft print. The collection’s color palette picks up where last seasons’ left off. garbege introduces Heather Grey and Lavender to its basic Black and White fabric canvas. Graphic treatments remain visually striking with the use of true colors of Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK) ink processes.

LA Air Line T-Shirts and Clothing, Lift Off!!

LA Air Line T-Shirts and Clothing, Lift Off!!History of LA Air Line — POP ART / POP CULTURE

LA Air Line traces its roots back to Venice Beach California in 1971. This was a wonderful time to be in California. The creativity of the California culture at the time was changing the world. The Doors, Beach Boys, surf culture….. art, hippy, free love, marijuana, carefree fun Ilfestyle….. these all come to a persons mind when thinking of this time.

Dennis Maroney, founder of LA Air Line personifies this California culture. Although he was born in New York, his family moved to Los Angeles when he was two years old. He has lived here ever since.

After attending College at San Diego State University and majoring in Psychology, Dennis became restless and decided he did not want to miss the excitement of the times around him, with the carefree lifestyle. Inspired by Jack Kerouac “On the Road”, Dennis took off the next five years and traveled the entire USA by hitchhiking only. He kept track of how many rides he had been given by friendly drivers, but stopped counting when he reached his 10,000th ride! He would go out with some money, and when the money ran out, he would return to Los Angeles to work for a few months. Most of the work he had to do was hard manual labor. He would save all his money, living with friends to save on rent. Then he would go back out on the road for more adventure.

On one of his return trips to Los Angeles, he met a girl at a beach party. She had a friend who was looking to hire an airbrush artist. Dennis saw that this was a great chance to do some fun work, instead of hauling trash or other hard work. So he took a chance and told the employer that he was an art major in college. Fortunately, the employer did not check the school records, and did not discover the little lie. This man then taught Dennis how to airbrush.

Dennis learned more and more about the technique of airbrushing, and by the summer of 1971, he was making his own shirts at the Venice beach boardwalk and selling about 50 pieces a day. LA AIR LINE was born!

Soon, Dennis’s work was discovered by people in the fashion business. These large companies started asking Dennis to make shirts for them too. Soon, Dennis was making shirts for all the big fashion brands in Los Angeles. He decided to open his first production factory in 1976. Sales kept growing and growing.

By 1984, (the year of Olympics in Los Angeles) LA Air Line was doing millions of garments a year……. ALL BY HAND! LA Air Line was now a star in the Los Angeles fashion industry. LA Air Line had such a good reputation, that it was awarded the first contract to make t-shirts for NASA and the new space shuttle program!

35 years since the beginning, LA Air Line is still going strong. It has supplied garments for almost every big clothing brand in the USA, including Trunk, True Religion, BCBG, BEBE, Phat Farm, Guess Jeans, Adriano Goldsmeid, BC Ethics, Bisou Bisou, DKNY, Hurley, Howe, Hustler, Ku USA, Levi Strauss, Lucky Brand, Marc Jacobs, Mudd Jeans, Osh Kosh, Pacific Sunwear, Quicksilver and Tommy Hilfiger.

Now, 35 years later, we are happy to announce that “LA Air Line”, the brand, is being born. Using 35 years of experience with the very roots of being in Los Angeles culture and years of experience individually painting garments BY HAND; LA Air Line will deliver to the customers this California cultural experience through its unique garments.
